Would very much like this feature as well. Almost all projects we do have room numbers, and yes the room names can change but the numbers may not. Kevin Frye This is how we do our room labeling in D-Tools currently. It would be nice to have a separate field for the room numbers

Can I ask in what way the Location Abbreviation is insufficient? Do you need abbreviation and room number?

Kevin Frye: for reporting purposes, when room names can change but room numbers do not. Wire id's may follow room number while in room components may need labelling or reporting with the abbreviation or full room name.

Paul Erickson: Do you really use the room abbreviation for equipment when it isn't a number yet want t use a room number for wires? Just curious how that is useful? If I make a label for a piece of equipment I can access the room name for that label. So again, I'm not sure I see the need. Do you have any examples or screenshots you can share of how you use what you described on wire and a piece of equipment? I'm curious because we are discussing a label feature that is separate from component ID that could have many options.

Kevin Frye: When I wrote this 2-years ago, we were struggling with appending room numbers to the CompIDs on wire. I did discover that would could use the room abbreviation for this. We needed to have consecutive numbering that continued from room to room but had unique IDs for each space.
