We have been dealing with some human error issues when setting up the project. We will look up project taxes based on the site address and it will typically apply the sales tax rate to both equipment and labor. But most of the labor we sell is non-taxable where we are located. However, it keeps occurring where either we don't catch that we didn't unassign the labor tax or someone inadvertently adds it later.
Additionally, there isn't a great way to notice this since the only places this would reveal itself are 1) a manual sales tax calculation on items reveals the sales tax is higher than it should be or 2) open the items and go to the price tab and click view to see the calculated sales tax on the total price of the item or 3) manually open the project tax settings to see if labor has sales tax.
Since labor items have the ability to choose whether or not the labor is taxable, we should also be able to do this per labor type.
Last, please add a labor tax line on the built-in Project Summary so we can see a non-zero value here easily and catch these mistakes before they are sent to the customer.
