Adding to this, after thinking about it, would like to be able to do this with workflows. It occurred to me that there are two types of plans that we need to deal with:
Device warranties/Extended warranties - These begin as soon as we receive the item in our warehouse.
Service Plan/Workmanship Warranty - These begin at the completion of the project.
Would like to be able to activate differenty types of service plans based on what happens to the project in terms of status.

Eric Kalpakoff: I think we need to be able to approve a service plan that starts on a future date. It gets approved but only becomes active on the start date.
