Force the quickbooks estimate to match the job number in D-tools

I'm not sure if QuickBooks will allow this, but it would be nice if the QuickBooks estimate number for a job matched the D-tools job number upon creation. I find myself constantly having to manually edit the Estimate number to match the job number.

Setting for this added in v14, as well as similar functionality for Sales Orders that are pushed to QB as Estimates. Additional setting for Purchase Orders as well.

Having those match would minimize the need for separate tracking of an "accounting number" and make matching a vendor bill that has the DTools PO number to the QB PO easier since they would match.

I'd be happy if the damn proposals would always be 100% accurate from one platform to the next. Being off a few pennies 10% of the time makes it a pain. Same with how they calculate % payments... 60% is 60% in D-Tools and QuickBooks.

We have an option to transfer the Project Number as Estimate Other field in QB Settings for QB Desktop only. Not sure if that helps.

Naresh Nichani: I think that is a start, but D-Tools really needs to beef up their "integration" with QB. Quickbooks has the ability to have custom Estimate and PO numbers specified on import. Having those numbers match the DTools numbers would dramatically improve the experience.

Naresh Nichani: That is not an option for estimate other.... You can only transfer phase location system and change order number. There is an include project number in job name, but it rarely makes it to Quickbooks with the limitation in the length of the name in QB.

Naresh Nichani: I found it. I'd still rather it be the actual estimate number. Currently I have to create the estimate, change the estimate number in QB, then go back into D-tools do a select all - mass update accounting number for products, then the same for labor. It is extremely tedius.

Patrick Doran: For anyone wondering, I've found a slight workaround. If you create the estimate in QB first, which allows you to create the estimate number yourself, you can then go in and, instead of choosing "create estimate", choose "add to existing" instead. You'll be prompted to type in the name of the estimate you want to add the items to, and then everything matches. But I would like them to add this feature to "create estimate" as well, as that would save alot of time and back-and-forth.
