I would agree with Duncan Idaho, then one can be color vision impaired (x and check marks) or words.. In/Out, Yes/No. may make it easier for API and SQL connectors, and simple sorting and make it more understandable for screen snips when passing info along.

Suggestion: Keep the green the way it is and make the red a hollow circle or a circle with an X

For those of us with "normal" sensory perception (no offense intended and I use the term loosely, was at the eye doctor the other day for my next round of glasses...), these color are very difficult to distinguish off axis as well as they are both very shaded hues. Something more lively, alternate shapes, and maybe not on opposing sides of the color wheel...

Please do color blind testing throughout. A quarter of my sales team is color blind. Make connected bright green with a checkmark and offline a hollow circle with an X in it. (I'd say make it gray like Microsoft Teams as well for offline.)
