Seth: Other than the ability to assign it to tasks for PMing a project, given that there are SO many other things that SI can't do, why was the decision made to develop for something for which there is already a functional work around as a phased labor accessory item?

Just requested the same thing - We finding the need to for multiple phases and labor per product - Tasking from Mobile installer would be a lot easier.

Absolutely need multi-phase per product! Install, vs programming, commissioning, etc, Doc time.... right now we are doing it with labor accessories, but that is making the tasking of projects really cumbersome and the techs are not checking of the individual labor items in one task when they have to enter information on the part in another task.

Nicholas Pepper
This is already possible by using accessories. Just create a labor item called something like "Programming - 3 hours" and add it as an accessory and uncheck the prompt. Boom, automatically added with the Tesira. If you want to be able to edit it, just make a "Programming" labor line item with no specific qualifier in the name and just modify the line item from the project browser inline for the correct number of hours.

Nicholas Pepper: We are currently are capturing the cost and pricing using labor items, but checking these off as completed inside the tasks when really it is the part and not the labor item becomes to overwhelming in MI. We have 300 item on a job and 4 or 5 additional labor items per part that represents the phases the part is supposed to go through, so now there are 1200 items or more... when they are not really items...
N
Nicholas Pepper
Nicole Niles: I see your point, it does make for more administrative work. Another simple solution would be to insert a single line item (such as "Programming" or "Commissioning" that would encompass all of that work at the end of the project. Then you only have one line item for this person to check off and don't have to worry about any accessories.

Nicole Niles
Nicholas Pepper: True, but we have progressive billing that is based on those items being completed per part... so on small projects I could combine them. But on large projects that have commissioning agents that I need to run reports against to prove what phase these controllers and peripherals are in, unfortunately one line item wont work for us.

yes this would be great
