Serialized wire tags

It would be very helpful if the wire tags had an ID number that was serialized. That way Wire Tag #1 on page 1 lines up with Wire Tag #1 on page 4. While the info on the wire tags is useful, if you compare the tags from two pages related to the same wire, no piece of data matches between the flags. We need something that makes it easy to know they go together. A serialized ID number would do that.

I'm not sure I'm following this request. When you say "Wire Tag #1" on pg 1 and pg 4 "lines up", what exactly are you saying? And to be clear, if you show the same wire from your BOM on two different pages, it absolutely has the same ID, which we call Component ID. Can you please provide some more clarity and even some visual examples if you have them?

Kevin Frye If you look at the picture attached, I added in the serialized numbers to teach wire tag. If you look at the two tags with #1, the first is "DTP 3 IN - PAGE-1 - DTP R 201-001" and the corresponding tag is "DTP OUT - PAGE -1 - DTP3 T 101 D - BLACK-001". There is nothing that matches in those two wire tags to the other tag. if you just look at the tag, there's no way to know they go together without additional information about what they are connected to. But adding in the "1" to each of those tags instantly lets you know they represent the same wire. So I'd like that as a shape data point, "WIRE TAG ID#" that is auto populated just like wire numbers. I know you could also say the wire numbers match, but having all that info in the tag helps. Honestly, the only real info you would need is page number and wire tag ID. Wouldn't even need the terminal label or product component ID
