Set Location or System as Optional

D-Tools needs to be able to make entire Location or System optional. I have added entire locations and told customers "if you don't want that section just run a red pen through". Being able to add full locations or systems would be a huge benefit.

Would it help to put a location or system with same name, but added (optional) text and then move the optional marked products to that system or location?

We ran into the same issue. Done know if this helps but the workaround we did was create two different quotes.  Quote 1 uses a filter system - contains - Base so that all the systems that have the work Base Bid would display on the quote.  Quote 2 would have a filter System - Contains - Option so that all systems with the word option would be on the second quote.  
We then created a quote group so that the base bid would be listed first and the options would be listed second.  The customer could then choose one or both.
It would be nice if we had a "not like" or "Not In" operator for the system.  This way we would not have to list the Base in the system name.

I frequently run into competitors who show full options on their proposal with the list of parts and then a summary of the option below the total price for the project along with an initials box for the client.
