Solution links break when a project is approved

We've started to use Solutions in projects to help save time. When we approved the first project with solutions, all of the solution links broke. I've tested this a couple of times with other test projects and it does the same thing. Don't know if this can be fixed, but it really makes a lot of extra work.

Mark Cohea Can you explain the value of Solutions in an approved project? What are you attempting to do that is no longer available?

Mark Cohea
Kevin Frye It is a time saver to be able to edit a solution that is going in multiple rooms. Just like we would edit a product or a package. Even if it is an internal change order (which it would be anyway, if we are changing a solution)

Mark Cohea: Do you use quantity-based projects when quoting?

Kevin Frye We don't use D-Tools for estimating. We use a Accubid. Once we win a project, we import a CSV file from Accubid - it is typically a quantity based item list. Then, we 'approve' the job in D-tools and convert everything to unit based - except for items that we've marked as bulk. At that point, we begin engineering. We use an internal change order when we are engineering, to help the the PM and estimator see any variances from the actual material vs. the estimated material.

It's during the engineering process when we would utilize solutions.

I have since learned that this is by design. Can this be a feature that is added?? it makes no sense for us to even use Solutions, if they aren't linked. We are looking for saving engineering time by editing 20-30 classrooms all at once by editing a linked solution. once the solutions are unlinked, it's as if they don't even exist at all - they are standalone lists of equipment.
