We're nearly four years since this comment from Austin, but I think that the business case for making Bluebeam the 'third way' (Visio and Autocad being the other two) has never been better.

If you're a Bluebeam power user, it couldn't be more obvious that Bluebeam + D-Tools is the killer app. None of Visio's garbage about working in a file type that none of the other trades support, none of the learning curve of Autocad, and it's got near total saturation on the commercial integration side of things.

I can do a professional level markup of a plan set in a medium sized project in less than an hour, and the output is a living document with all the tools for team interaction that we expect / use in .pdf land.

No offense intended for the D-Tools team, but the .pdf import tool is an awful bear to use. My workflow has me doing 'all of the things' to a client .pdf prior to pulling it into Visio (Done in Bluebeam), or going through the same process with a .pdf in order to get it converted into Autocad (Also done in Bluebeam). If you've missed something on your cleanup on the front end, fixing it once it's in Visio, in particular, is just awful.

This would be an absolute game changer for D-Tools.

Bluebeam is basically Adobe Acrobat, but made for designers. Which is right up our industry's alley. It runs smoother than Adobe, Visio, and AutoCAD. Plus, it takes 5-10 minutes to learn how to use.

Please, please add Bluebeam integration or replace Visio integration with it.
